About The Artist

Jeff Nelson is a retired dentist, and has been living in the Santa Ynez Valley for nearly 30 years with his wife, Susie. He has been interested in photography since a teenager, but has taken his interest to the higher levels made possible by the digital revolution in 35 mm photography. Jeff enthusiastically embraces the synergism of computers and digital photography, and the infinite possibilities for creativity provided by their marriage.

Jeff's photography reflects his broad range of interests. He enjoys capturing the Western lifestyle of horses, ranch work, rodeo and the great outdoors. The great outdoors includes such widely varied subjects as macrophotography of butterflies in Santa Barbara, to the lions of the Serengeti. His interest in horsepower extends beyond the hayburner, to the mechanized world of car shows and motorcycle races.

Jeff works exclusively in 35 mm digital format using Canon equipment. His work has found it's way into the Santa Barbara Newspress as well as Cowboys and Indians magazine.
